Dispensing Directions need to be associated with a particular form of drug. This is done in two places in Merlin:


1. The Drug Form screen.

This screen is updated by the Pharmhos monthly updates. If you wish to create a new form, please notify support@pharmhos.com so that it can be included in the updates.

(This screen is not updated by Pharmhos, it is a site specific screen.)

2.1 Create the verb to be associated with the Drug Form.




Field 1: Direction Code - enter the abbreviation for the new direction

Field 2: Directions Type - select <V>erb from the list



Field 4: Direction in full - the following window opens:



Enter the directions

Escape then File the screen

File the main screen.

2.2 Create or find the form to associate with the verb




Field 1: Direction Code - Enter the same Form of drug that is filed in the Drug Form screen.

Field 2: Directions Type - Select <F>orm of Drug from the window that opens


The Directions screen will open:



Field 1. Singular: - enter the singular description

Field 2. Plural: - enter the plural description

Field 3. Associated Verb: - enter the verb to associate with the form.

Field 4: APF Table 2 Instr'n - leave blank

Field 5: Auto-calculation Qty - enter N.

File the screen.

The form created above must be entered in the Inventory Master screen  - Field 8: Form.
