Go to:
- Administration -> Under Inventory/Medicines Management -> Trade products
- Click on New Trade Name
Trade Details
- Enter the new Trade name
- Enter the manufacturer code, or enter the first few letters of the manufacturer and select from the list, or click on the search icon
- Enter the Generic drug code or at least the first 4 letters of the Generic name and select from the list or click on the search icon
- Tall Man lettering - not mandatory
- Click on NEXT
Global Trade Item Number (GTIN) - not mandatory
- To enter a GTIN click on +
- Enter the GTIN, Pack size eg 20 and Presentation eg BOX/T
- Click on NEXT
AMT encoding - Trade Product Pack (TPP) - not mandatory
- Enter the TPP code if known.
Drug Catalogues - not mandatory
- Enter the MIMs code if known
- Click on NEXT
- Click on SUBMIT
The new Internal Trade Code that has been created will appear. It is a 9000 code to differentiate it from the Merlin External Codes.
Use this code in the Inventory Maintenance screen in the Global Purchase data screen.
